Thea is a special investigator and cybercrime prevention and security by business design consultant advising companies and public institutions on privacy and cyber security related business process optimization and security and privacy by design solutions development. As a researcher she is doing her research at Estonian Business School on business of cybercrime. Thea has her master training from Tallinn University in Interaction Design and Knowledge Environments as well as MBA in IT Management. Her research focuses on business processes and models of cybercrime as well as early discovery of potential loopholes. Thea has worked at the IBM, represented European YWCA in various European institutions and is currently consulting public and private institutions on cybersecurity and strategic management.
In the world where every third confidence crime is committed using IT as a means for an end cyber security tends to focus on the IT. But for most cases the big enabler for the crime has been the user or in case of a company a problem in the business process. Therefore every corporate IT is only as safe as the process it runs. Presentation focuses on how to recognize the risks and redesign the processes to be effective, profitable and yet secure.
